We’re always learning! 2 groups of staff from Workbridge recently visited NHS Rampton Hospital in Nottinghamshire to learn about their vocational services.

It was a trip organised by Workbridge between the two organisations to share, learn and develop each other’s vocational services.

Rampton Hospital cares for around 340 patients as part of a secure mental health hospital. We were very lucky to visit the hospital’s facilities for vocational services including their woodwork, graphics and horticulture departments and learn about how Rampton Hospital supports their patients with recovery through their vocational pathway.

Becky Phillips, Service Manager at Workbridge said of the visit:

“Everyone at Workbridge found the trip really informative. It was great to see the set up and learn more about how vocations continue to support a person’s wellbeing and recovery”.

Helen Wright, Head of Workbridge said:

“We would like to thank Emma Atkinson, Vocational Services Manager at Rampton Hospital for agreeing to host us. It’s really important as a team that we continue to learn and invest time in visiting other vocational settings across the UK, so that we can provide the best possible vocational setting for our service users”.

We look forward to reciprocating and having the Rampton vocational team visit us in the New Year!

Workbridge helps people with a mental illness, brain injury, autism and learning disability to learn new life and work skills through a range of vocations. This includes an award winning café, garden centre and charity shop, as well as woodwork, ceramics, textiles and design and print workshops.
