Workbridge Education is a community-based service that can help you grow in confidence and wellbeing, learn new vocational skills, and can even support you to explore employment. We are an experienced, inclusive and friendly team who can support you to make the next steps towards your future.
Funded by UK Government, we are providing free community workshops to support those who are currently out of work due to their mental health. The workshops are designed to help build confidence by learning a new skill and improve mental wellbeing.
Start date: Friday 14th February
End date: Friday 14th March
Frequency: Every Friday
Time: AM (9am-12noon) or PM (1pm-4pm)
Address: Braye Learning & Development Centre, Bedford Road, Northampton, NN4 7AD
Cost: Free to attend.
When you apply to take part in our workshops, you will be able to select from the following options:
1. Creative Arts
Take part in a range of creative projects supported by our Arts Hub. Explore your own creativity, find inspiration, and receive support and encouragement to help improve your mood and grow your support network.
2. Food and Health
Increase your confidence and create your first delicious sourdough boule alongside our specialist sourdough tutors. Use this therapeutic session to not only gain valuable skills but help raise your self-esteem, and improve your wellbeing.
3. Gardening and Natural World
Come and spend time enjoying the benefits of green spaces in our beautiful Workbridge gardens. Participate in a range of seasonal gardening tasks which could include anything from seed sowing and bulb planting to creating support structures and new raised beds.
4. Design Technology and Engineering
Learn how to build critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an experience in basic leather-work. Work collaboratively with others and be supported by our DTE team in a friendly, safe, therapeutic environment.
“I signed up to the cooking course and we’ve been making sourdough and cakes. I am still racked with anxiety when I walk through the door, but the people here are so supportive and friendly and make me feel good about myself. After all these years I feel like I’m being useful and have a purpose again. I’m now starting to think what my next move might be, and I am currently considering volunteering at St Andrew’s. I feel like Workbridge has helped me to start living again."
"I’m so grateful to the Workbridge team and really want to tell anyone out there who may be struggling with their mental health and may have lost all hope, that there are people out there who can really help. I am a real life example.”
