Each year the money raised by Workbridge’s charity shop helps to fund activities and equipment that will benefit Workbridge service users. On Wednesday, 17th July Workbridge went on a trip to Wicksteed Park
Workbridge offers a vocational pathway for people with mental illness, learning disabilities or brain injuries to gain skills and build confidence as part of a team. Over the year we also arrange both educational and fun day trips away so that our service users can increase their social skills and get to know each other better.
A popular trip chosen by our service users is Wicksteed Park. Swinging on the Sway Rider and Carousel, getting wet on the Log Flume, taking in the views from the train and riding the Pinfari Rollercoaster– they all had a great time! “The best part of the trip, was all of it!” said a Workbridge service user.
We’d like to thank everyone who has been involved in the charity shop over the past year – from our volunteers to all our customers who regularly visit the shop.
As well as social trips away, the charity shop has funded a trip to the theatre and a nature-trail boat trip. The shop has also been able to pay for a new football table in our social area and provide the ceramics workshop with a dust proof radio.
Come and visit the charity shop. You can find us on Bedford Road, Northampton Monday to Saturday 10-3pm.
