Workbridge Woodwork support councillor with community project in Northampton
Four large planters have been built by vocational skills instructors and service users in Workbridge Woodwork for the local community to plant up in Dunster Street, Northampton.
The planters are part of a community project, run by Councillor Danielle Stone, to improve the outdoor space on the Northampton street and reduce fly tipping and littering.
Councillor Danielle Stone of Northampton Borough Council said:
“We are delighted with the support we have had from Workbridge. We now have 4 planters. Where before we has fly tipping and rubbish, we now have planters looked after by the neighbours. They are growing herbs, fruit and vegetables for all to share. It is very exciting and we cannot thank Workbridge enough”.
Jason Smith, Senior Vocational Skills Instructor at Workbridge Woodwork said:
“It was great to hear from Cllr Stone and we were happy to get involved in this project. It is great skills development for our service users and we love seeing our finished work on display for everyone to see. Projects like this give a lot of confidence to our service users in Woodwork”.
