We're incredibly proud of recent garden make-overs that patients at St Andrew's Healthcare and Workbridge horticulture technical instructors have been doing over the past few weeks.

Gardens in Fairbairn and Elgar Ward at the William Wake House building at St Andrew's Healthcare have been re-planted and spruced up by patients on Workbridge Horticulture sessions.

Horticulture and gardening are proven to have a positive impact on both mental and physical health.

Helen Conlon, Workbridge Specialist Horticulture TI has been coordinating the sessions for patients, and said:

"Elgar ward patients love their therapy garden. It’s a sensory feast with the colours, scents and textures and attracts bees and butterflies. We have tried to get as many individuals as possible to take part in the planting to give them all ownership. They are planning to put some colourful stencils on in the coming weeks too".

Horticulture, is one of Workbridge specialist sessions with patients at St Andrew's Healthcare that takes place throughout the year.
