Workbridge has teamed up with Age UK Northants to deliver creative workshops to clients at the Venton Centre, Northampton.

Service users and staff at Workbridge are supporting older people to love later life with a series of creative sessions at the Venton Centre in Northampton with the aim of creating a community courtyard.

Each session is being delivered by instructors at Workbridge and will support older people with new skills and their wellbeing. The opportunity is helping Workbridge’s service users with valuable experience working in the community.

The opportunity for the two charities to work together came about through the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce. Workbridge and Age UK Northants are both members of the Chamber and met in December to discuss how the two charities could work together.

Helen Wright, Head of Workbridge said:

“I had a lovely conversation with Pamela Kom of Age UK at the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce in December. Pamela put me in touch with their Venton Centre and a meeting was arranged with Workbridge and Age UK staff. From there we came up with the idea of a garden courtyard project that will help our service users and clients of Age UK. I feel very passionate about supporting other charities in Northampton and look forward to working on this collaborative project together for the benefit of our service users and clients at Age UK".

Becky Phillips, Service Manager at Workbridge said: "We will be holding sessions with Age UK over the next 6 weeks with the aim of having a lovely outdoor courtyard for their clients to enjoy in the Spring".

Workbridge will be working with Age UK clients at the Venton Centre to make upcycled flowers and build planters for bedding plants in their outside space.
